Herbs, including those that grow at Bird Park, can be used to make delicious medicinal drinks. If you enjoy a good mixed drink (with or without alcohol), but could use some inspiration and new ingredients, then this is the class for you! Tired moms may especially enjoy this evening with Jenny Hauf, owner of Muddy River Herbals, to learn how to use delectable herbs to make infused spirits and bitters. Get a grasp on how to make classic drinks like shrubs and sodas, and different ways of sweetening drinks without white sugar, such as honey-sweetened lemonade. This class takes place outside, near the Bird Park Office.

You'll come away knowing how to make a mojito, simple syrup, and blueberry pine shrub. Jenny will also discuss alcohol-free options so that you can treat everyone in your life to a beautifully crafted drink.
A limited amount of bunches of mojito mint and white pine will be available for purchase from Muddy River Herbals to use in the creation of your drinks. This will be listed as an ADD-ON in the ticketing area.

Join folk herbalist & writer Maribeth Helen for an afternoon in communion with Ocimum tenuiflorum, commonly known as Tulsi or Holy Basil. The plants have an incredible amount of wisdom to share with us when we create the space to slow down and listen. We will gather together to learn from the spirit of Tulsi through meditation, a gentle, but powerful, way to connect with the energy and wisdom of the plants. We will sip tea, listen in, share our experiences, and Maribeth with talk about the historical, medicinal, energetic, and spiritual uses of Holy Basil. Tulsi grows abundantly on the farm so we will have the pleasure of getting to know this plant in person.
